Considered the greatest third baseman of the Dead Ball Era, Jimmy Collins was a magician with the glove and a feared clutch hitter with the bat. Collins hit .300 or better five times as Boston's player-manager for its first six seasons in the American League. Collins led his club to the World Championship over Pittsburgh in 1903.
