Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker were reputed to be good friends. They shared a love for hunting, and at the end of their careers were teammates on the 1928 Philadelphia Athletics. It was Tris Speaker who ended Cobb’s string of batting titles in 1916. They were cast together in a 1926-1927 gambling scandal, but were exonerated by then baseball commissioner Judge Kenesaw Landis.
