The only World Series in the 1950s that did not feature a New York team was in 1959 when the Chicago White Sox faced the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Dodgers won the series 4-2.  The White Sox stars of that series were Luis Aparicio, Ted Kluszewski who hit three home runs, a record 10 RBIs, and batted .391, Nellie Fox and Early Wynn.  Wynn, pictured here, won one of the two White Sox victories.  The Dodgers boasted players Gil Hodges, Duke Snider, Charlie Neal, pitchers Larry Sherry, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax.
