Bobby Doerr Gouache on board painting

Price: $2,500.00
Signed by Red Sox General Manager Eddie Collins on the same scouting trip that netted Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr became Boston’s regular second baseman in 1938, and according to Williams, "the silent captain of the Red Sox."  After returning from the military in 1946, Doerr helped the BoSox to the pennant by batting .271 with 18 homers and 116 RBI.  He also hit .409 in the World Series, though Boston lost to the Cardinals.
